The intellectual property rights for the works of Joan Miró belong to Successió Miró, which is the only entity with authority to grant or deny permission for reproduction, distribution or communication of the works, except in those instances excluded by law.
Successió Miró also reserves the right in regards to the integrity before any potential deformations, imitations, mutilations and fraudulent uses. Any unauthorized public use of the image or the works of Joan Miró will bring about the appropriate legal action.
In Spain, these copyrights are managed directly by the Successió Miró. For the rest of the world, there is a network of collaborating societies that manage the artist's copyrights in their respective countries.
To reproduce an image in any given media outlet, authorization must be sought by filling out the form attached, if and when the applicant is in Spanish territory. All other requests from outside Spain must go through the ADAGP or the collaborating societies in each and every country. Only upon receiving an affirmative answer will the agreed-upon payment arrangements to Successió Miró be made.
To obtain an image of the works or photo from our archives, the form for the transfer of image rights must be filled out, and payment sent for the amount agreed for its rental. This in no way exempts one from also applying for the authorization for its use.
For further information or to send your request, please contactrights@successiomiro.com. Successió Miró will answer all requests.
